back in the day when they used to present us with fine Romantic style pictures on the cover, rather than romantic pictures of pretty girls...

Point well made Jared!
I think this is the worst culprit I own....

No good looking women on these CD covers, but they do contain marvellous music.

Something of a Mahler Fest today:

Stunning, I can never suppress a grin at the start of the fifth movement, it is simply wonderful.

That was the first Mahler record I ever heard. I loved it from the beginning, but when I heard the start of the Scherzo I was totally hooked!

Had a bit of a Mahlerfest myself too yesterday.

Huge dynamics in the last 2 movements. For the first time I heard a tiny bit of speakercone breakup in the sound. The CAM350's were showing no mercy!

I havent listened to Solti's M7 in a very long time. Maybe sometime this week then.

You have it on vinyl, in case that's a consideration!

All of it is really terrific but the opening to the Fifth is just incredible. I had to put it on again this morning before leaving for work and I had it up LOUD too. It put a spring in my step.

What always fascinated me about that CD cover was how anyone in their right mind would allow their musical instrument anywhere remotely close to salt water spray!!!
