Note that Tir Na HiFi does not take any responsibility for transactions arranged or carried out here. It is up to the seller and buyer to check each other out! Please be sensible folks, and if there is something you think is wrong, let a mod know, OK?

To make it as clear as we can, here are some simple guidelines:

a) like any forum, the success of tirnahifi is entirely dependent on discussion. All members are encouraged to participate in discussion of music, hifi, etc.

Just a quick follow-up.

I mailed Cloney to see if they had anything that might suit and Noel came back with a very good offer on an ELAC 2030 Subwoofer and a B&W LCR60 centre speaker. I never even considered the ELAC as an option but was very impressed with all the German test reports I could read online. I got the two speakers home but unfortunately the tweeter was not working in the centre. I dropped it back to Noel Saturday afternoon and got it back the same evening with a new tweeter installed, delivered by Noel himself (he lives on my road). This centre just sounds fantastic! It is very open and natural with no sign of harshness whatsoever.

The sub is really well built and packs incredible punch for its size. "The Dark Night" and "The Incredibles" can really shake the room and create an impressive effect and atmosphere when called for.

"The Incredibles" blu-ray is real favourite with the kids (and adults) in this house. Brilliant sound track and great humour throughout.

I only have very few blu-rays so if you have any recommendations I am all ears? I have "Bladerunner" (amazing!), "X-Men", "Star Wars" and "Dark Night". I am looking to get the "Pirates of The Caribbean" Box set and the "Back To The Future" set as well. I guess "Master and Commander" is a must as well for that battle scene?

I want to thank forum members (John and Greg in particular) for their amazing help! This forum is great!

Finally, I have to commend Cloney Audio and Noel in particular for his great service. I have no issues with online shopping but there is something very reassuring about buying from a local dealer who have expertise and no hassle guarantee if there is ever a problem.

Now what to watch next.....? ;)
