a) like any forum, the success of tirnahifi is entirely dependent on discussion. All members are encouraged to participate in discussion of music, hifi, etc.
b) tirnahifi is not designed to be, nor intended to be, a marketplace. Any member who uses the site merely for selling will be looked on suspiciously.
c) those members who choose to sell on the site should be aware that the mods do keep an eye on the stuff for sale, plus the demeanour of the seller. Sometimes we may lock/delete/ban a sales thread on this basis.
d) honesty is paramount in all selling transactions. Commercial sellers who label themselves as such are accepted at the discretion of the moderating team.
e) All ads have to include information about age, price, provenance, etc.

g) Commercial sellers should approach any of the moderation team in advance of posting. First time commercial posts without moderator contact will be removed.

Re: Centre and Sub Wanted
Sub only for the Home Cinema system really. Nothing too fancy but preferably good solid quality. Thanks for your suggestions. Will look into it... :D
Re: Centre and Sub Wanted
Ok , let me know ,No problem if you want to take a loan and try it first ..
Re: Centre and Sub Wanted
The BK subs look brilliant for the money! Not many second hand it seems, but I might fork out for a new one... Will keep looking. I take it your Q Acoustic is not for sale, JFK? Cheers...

Re: Centre and Sub Wanted
Thanks so much for your help. That is very kind of you John!
I am now a bit torn between going for the BK 200xls or the Q 2070s. The colour wouldn't matter as it will be hidden in a corner... well away from... wife... ;)
Cheers,
Claus

Re: Centre and Sub Wanted
No Problem Claus your very welcome , i tried the 2070s in place of my resident BKXLS400 and i have to say it did fair pretty well ..
I guess the only issue with BK is that you dont get to try them out , but i have to say that my one surpassed all my expectations ..
Let me know if you would like to try the 2070s , im sure we could sort something
Thanks
John

Re: Centre and Sub Wanted
Trying it would be very interesting. I will PM you about this! :D
Just to explain my situation in brief:
I have my PMC DB1+ at the moment doing surround front speaker duty. They are actually for sale but I might hold on to them even after the 1028be arrive as my new main speakers in the (hopefully near) future... I was originally hoping to use the 1028be as fronts but that means playing them in front of the chimney breast and that really did not work with the LFT-8. The soundstage just got too wide and seemed to lose depth. So as a consequence I am keeping the two systems separate, using the DB1 as fronts and my old BW DM303 as surrounds.
Hence the need for a sub and a centre....
If anyone has recommendations for some smart looking wall mounting brackets for the DB1+ I would be delighted to hear from you... I have been looking at official ones but they are really expensive! Thomann.de has a few options as well but it's har to know if they will fit the speakers etc. :)
