For Sale/Wanted
Forum rules
Note that Tir Na HiFi does not take any responsibility for transactions arranged or carried out here. It is up to the seller and buyer to check each other out! Please be sensible folks, and if there is something you think is wrong, let a mod know, OK?

To make it as clear as we can, here are some simple guidelines:

a) like any forum, the success of tirnahifi is entirely dependent on discussion. All members are encouraged to participate in discussion of music, hifi, etc.
b) tirnahifi is not designed to be, nor intended to be, a marketplace. Any member who uses the site merely for selling will be looked on suspiciously.
c) those members who choose to sell on the site should be aware that the mods do keep an eye on the stuff for sale, plus the demeanour of the seller. Sometimes we may lock/delete/ban a sales thread on this basis.
d) honesty is paramount in all selling transactions. Commercial sellers who label themselves as such are accepted at the discretion of the moderating team.
e) All ads have to include information about age, price, provenance, etc.
f) THE MODERATING TEAM RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY ADS AT THEIR DISCRETION.
g) Commercial sellers should approach any of the moderation team in advance of posting. First time commercial posts without moderator contact will be removed.

I'm selling these speakers at a more than fair price. I'm using the money from these to buy hi-fi for myself because it's a passion of mine.

I just sold a pair of speakers on this very forum for €750 that cost me €2000, so tell me, where's my profit here overall!!?

I swap & change hi-fi to get the system together that I want, I don't see the shame in that!

If you have sour grapes over missing out on a great deal, then don't take it out on me as a personal insult!

Settle down lads....

These classified ads are not for use by dealers (unless stated) and somebody buying and selling hifi for quick turnover must be considered a dealer. The spirit of these ads is quite clear.

If there's a bargain to be had on another forum or sales site it's normal actually post a direct link to that ad rather than resell here at a profit - the fact that it might still be a bargain is irrelevant.

I'd ask both aa1 and Vorius to explain exactly what they are claiming before the mods here make any decision.

The seller is certainly not a dealer. Regarding the comment from the person who claims they were snapped up in an "unfair" deal on Adverts last night all I can say is that it was a genuine sale at a fantastic price (and I know this as I worked for years in a shop selling SA speakers - the cheapest you could expect to get these speakers at 2nd hand would easily be €600+ - and that`s not including the centre channel). I don`t want to get dragged into aggro over this but I would simply say that the only thing I see as "unfair" in this whole carry on is a member trying to sully the reputation of another member without having all the facts. If that member had gotten the speakers on Adverts for whatever price he was offering I`m sure there would be a post telling everyone how unbelievably cheap he got them and that he practically stole them from the bloke on Adverts as the idiot had no idea what they were worth...etc. etc.

Ha, cheers Dave. Glad you're happy with the speakers. As you could see, wasn't trying to pull the wool here. Got them at a snip , cleaned em' up, sold them on to a group I know at a great price. The little slice of profit is being ploughed straight into more equipment. Apparently making a (rare) profit on s/h gear is forbidden though!?

I do apologise to any millionaires on the forum that may offended by an 'average joe' buying and selling kit to end up with the kit they want!;)

I'd be Confident to say that anyone on here (or not on here) that has ever bought any Hifi from me, were quite happy with their purchase/swap and have found me pleasant and fair to deal with. I take exception to people (ok person!) trying to make me out like some sort of ganster!!

I hope that's the end of any deforming comments!

I'm locking this for now.

Just for the record, Vorious - you do have a lot of stuff for sale up here at the moment. However, likewise AA1 has no business in taking a scrap from somewhere else over here.

Sharp practice is not viewed very highly here either BTW. Obviously this one worked out well for Bod - glad to hear that - but as is usual in all deals, caveat emptor.

Thread might be re-opened pending me clarifying a few things.

Lets keep it civil here.
