I have the Jascha Heifetz RCA box set. I do not like his tone at all, it's sounds more like a Jazz musican's fiddle playing, it's thin and boxy and lacks emotion, I much prefer David Oistrakh, Arthur Grumiaux and Leonid Kogan.bombasticDarren wrote:I didn't find it particularly inspiring if I am honest Fergus. Yep. I see where you are at....that sounds familiar!Jared wrote: I'm not saying I don't like it... but it will certainly take more than a few listens to re-acquaint myself with this musical language...

Mozart - Operatic Arias & Exsultate, Jubilate (Cecilia Bartoli/Gyorgy Fischer, Wiener Kammerorchester, Decca)
It's nights like tonight when I nearly convince myself that all I'll ever really need is Mozart...
