Interesting ..... I hadn't given it any thought - it barely crossed my radar! But the retailer looks interesting and maybe even affordable
Maybe next year!

I'm tempted.
3 hours each way.
But a day out that might be fun.
Will think about it.

Re: Belfast Audio Show 2-3 November
Hi Ivor,
It's a bit late and I am tired and just saw your post .. but here goes ..
Got the train to Belfast (arrived about 1pm) and then got a bus to the Stormont hotel (which is beside Stormont). Arrived about 2pm .. It's a good bit away from the centre.
Started with the mbl room .. I had missed the intro and all I could discover was that the system cost £25k and the speakers were £10k. . Music was mainly Sting and then some jazz (I left at that stage). Personally I thought the speakers sounded good (should at that price) but volume was a bit loud and sometimes the bass boomed a bit (in my opinion). However, I am used to Quad so not used to that much bass. (And it was in a hotel room). The salesman was quite interesting and was telling us about seeing Sting at various concerts worldwide. ["Us" was about 5 people]. He passed around a speaker unit (mid+treble) which was about the size of a bag of sugar but quite heavy. In regard to placement we were told that optimal placement should be based on the width of the room -- 25% (I think) of the width from the the side walls but 40% from the back wall. But we were also old that with bad placement you would still get 90% of their available quality. Leaving the speakers at the back wall (at home) and moving them out into the middle of the room for critical listening was suggested as an option.
I then went to the Graham/Exposure room (again a handful of people). Music was Alan Parsons "Turn of a Friendly Card". Preferred the sound to the mbl but it was music I knew. They has a record cleaning machine on display. (Keith Monks).
Looked into some of the other rooms but was actually getting a bit bored. I am not thinking of buying anything new. So decided to go home.
Stopped into Richer Sounds on the way and and it reminded me of the old days in Dublin. They told me they are having a "Black Friday" sale that will build up over the month of November. .
Glad I went. Pity about the numbers attending. Everyone was very friendly. To be honest, I am not thinking of buying anything at the moment. I probably could not stand 2 days of the Munich show but each to his own.
I took a few pictures but will have to figure out how to attach them.

PS The Belfast railway station has moved. I thought it had been just redeveloped but found it was in a totally different location and had trouble finding it on the way back. Google maps is great.

No idea why last post suddenly switched to italics. Not intended.
