Thought it would be interesting to see the age profile of our members

if i remember right
there seemed to be much much more interest in hifi 25+ years ago
i remember my older sister's saving up for hifi systems it was around the time cd players were getting popular and turntables were "phasing out" of the mainstream

mp3 players and ipods did a lot of harm since then :)
when convenience became all that mattered :(

What are you faffing at?? We are all quietly expecting the next great leap in CA and you have decided to get sidelined on a marketing trip for harvey normans.

You will love my latest tweak. A wall hanging on the wall at the rear of the listening seat. Can't wait to bring you through the theme!
If you like it I might even get Anne to go into replica production.

Heresy perhaps, but I think one of the reasons hifi is not so interesting is because mid-fi is so much better than it was 25 years ago...

Is just that we are not as mature a nation as the rest of europe? A 15D2 car still gets more kudo's on the 'be jeppers you are cool dude! clapometer. Germans,French etc have long passed that stage and seek other more to them more fulfilling ways of spending their money.

yes i remember some horrible sounding cheap stuff
some mid range stuff nowadays is much better,
however i can guarantee you can go into did, powercity or harvey norman and there will be a 200/300 euro system with over 200 watts rms (wow) with sound quality that will make your skin crawl........
