yea seen this this morning its definitely serious
im just not sure what reading/playing device is so refined that the sd card is one of the largest contributors to noise
because most digital players will have far bigger noise issues than the difference between a good quality sd card and more than likely this new premium model
so id be asking whats the player/reader going to be?

Reddit is full of people taking the p*ss out of this, so that's where I heard about it. The general consensus seems to be that it's targeting professional use "in the field" rather than the average punter, but who knows.

As usual, I'm ambivalent.

If they reduce noise as well as they do with their camera sensors then they have a winner. There are some areas of digital they excel at.

why aren't they saying it's good for pictures as well ? are audiophiles more gullible ? it's easier to prove you are seeing something different rather than proving you're hearing a difference.
