Frans Brüggen rest in peace.

Post by Seán »

From the OAE:
We have heard the very sad news that our Emeritus Conductor Frans Brüggen passed away this morning at the age of 79. A full statement will follow in due course.

I am just seeing this now. What terribly sad news and and another huge loss to the world of Music. Bruggen was one of my own personal favourites of "modern" conductors but I have been listening to his music making since he made a very big name for himself as a very accomplished recorder player early on. He will be sadly missed.

It is a superb tribute to the maestro, I watched excerpts from all the videos and they are terrific.
