From Monday 23 December to Friday 2 January BBC Radio 3 presenter Sean Rafferty will be interviewing some of the biggest names in classical music today in their most personal surrounding. From joining Sir John Eliot Gardiner at home on his farm in Dorset to enjoying an impromptu performance by Katia and Marielle Labeque in Rome, Sean’s visits see him at home and behind the scenes with twelve classical stars and bringing unique access and insight to the Radio 3 audience.

Sean Rafferty interviews Julian Bream, Danielle De Niese, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Mitsuko Uchida, Sir James Galway, Sir Thomas Allen, Dame Cleo Laine and Jacqui Dankworth, Sir Antonio Pappano, Katia and Marielle Labeque, and Sir Neville Marriner.

For a Christmas Day edition of this series, Sean Rafferty travels to Dorset to visit the conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner at his organic farm. Sean talks to John Eliot Gardiner about his career at the top of the international Early Music scene, his life-long passion for Bach, travelling the globe to make music with some of the world's finest orchestras and opera companies, and the music and poetry that influenced him as a child growing up in Dorset. He also talks about the challenges of combining his life in music and farming.
