Just browsing Wadia site today looking at Intuition 01 and no CDP anywhere. Have Wadia stopped making CDPs?

Wadia seem to have changed hands (and attitude) recently, so it wouldn't surprise me at all.

They probably read the "build a dedicated audio pc" thread here and just gave up.

all joking aside a audio pc build is probably the cheapest way to upgrade a digital system, the upgrades in pc audio seem to be similar to upgrading an amp/dac etc, and our pc builds over on the other thread have become more foolproof and stable once built and software is installed (unless someone does something mad) the more standardised builds are simple enough. hit the button to turn it on hit the button to turn it off and use jriver software and app software for ipad/ipod/android to control and select tracks.

like to hear one of these high end cdp vs the lastest wave of pc audio builds

Totally agree. Though there is a DAC/Interface factor to add to the PC playback equation as well, I can see the CDP loosing ground to streaming very fast. Especially when hi-res streaming becomes widely available....

Not that I would know but sure couldn't one use the mouse mat?

On a more serious note I would assume that unless they come up with a huge improvement in cd sound quality it will
be difficult for manufacturers to swim against the tide. Turntables I believe regardless if whether they sound better than dacs or fall behind will always have a following. Maybe cdp's have reached their peak in terms of development. It is just a case of whether they the medium is going to sustain interest in the long term. I think not simply because of the size and presentation of the packaging.
