e) All ads have to include information about age, price, provenance, etc.
f) THE MODERATING TEAM RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY ADS AT THEIR DISCRETION.
g) Commercial sellers should approach any of the moderation team in advance of posting. First time commercial posts without moderator contact will be removed.

Yes, a good price. But I'm trying to be realistic in these recessionary times.
It's a lovely motor. Quiet, stable speed.
I used it for a couple of years for some of my DIY turntables.
I think that it, along with the great Rega tonearm I have for sale here also, make the start of a fantastic TT set up.
If somebody was to pick up an old chassis and platter they would have all the bits of a mighty turntable for little money. Just a few hours of easy effort.

There's a guy on DIYaudio at the moment also selling a clone of the Teres bearing at $180 each. This is excellent value, would mate perfectly with the motor here, and would really put you on a par with th ebest TTs out there. You would still need a platter - and the bearing is made for a fairly high mass one. It would take up to 20-25kg if you wanted to go that far!
So, motor and arm here, bearing over there, you would only need a platter and chassis to make something pretty special.

If anyone is interested in going this route, I have all the Teres drawings etc to get you underway. You can even come here and measure mine and I can bring you through the various philosphies etc etc etc. Be great to have another Teres clone in the country.

I think it's a really satisfying venture to make something that you can enjoy listening to.
The turntable is a great way to start on the DIY route.
Particularly if electronics are daunting.
