I am looking to dip the toe into an av setup... previously I had the hifi connected to the tv but it was not wife friendly enough (too many remotes...!!)
if I get one of these
Sony STR DG910 HDMI Amp
does the sky remote control the volume??
if not , what is the easiest way to get an av setup that requires only the sky remote to operate for tv....???
I have compromised in the past and used the headphone jack to input to the hifi amp, but if I'm investing in some speakers and av amp I'd rather not suffer that!!

Re: av system question
I just left the AV amp off and used the HDMI "pass through" to make the TV usable when kids and wife are using it. Then turn the TV down and use the AV for my own watching. The other option is the Logitech remotes.... Or sit down and teach the wife (with laminated instructions?) how to use all the remotes and what they do..... Or... maybe not.... :D
Re: av system question
tried the laminated instructions... with flow charts and metaphors...,
I got a box....
I have a harmony one, but it never worked...
that may be a result of non-mainstream components... ie primare and audio alchemy...
someone suggested that the Sony av amps have learning remotes not limited to Sony components...???
Or that you could program the sky remote to control the av amp volume, thus only needing to turn the tv on... as it will be using only one hdmi input, the amp switching between sky hd and bluray...???
