It contains one of the best scherzos in my collection of Mahler Sevens.

As a 1934 performance it is a product of its time but the singing (to my ear) is very pleasant and I did enjoy the set.
Fritz Busch was THE great Mozartian of his time next to Bruno Walter and Sir Thomas Beecham. His Glyndebourne Mozart recordings are classics.

Nice to read that Pepe and welcome home from your travels!

A bit of a misnomer this one as it contains one Flute Concerto by Ibert, one Concertino by Chaminade, one orchestrated Flute Sonata by Poulenc and one Fantasie for Flute and Orchestra by Faure. However the music is quite charming!

Perhaps it's just me but I never warmed to Mr Galway.

One does not become the lead in a section of the Berlin Philharmonic for nothing; when he plays "seriously" he is excellent. He did go off the tracks though when he became a "celebrity".

Oh I know that he played with the BPO, I have listened to some of his Bach and that is fine but everything else I have heard is dross.
