DAC with differential outputs - a differential version of PCM5102
I rewired my Superlux headphones to be differential so no common ground
yea that is what i thought would be optimum
its an awful shame all headphones arent wired differential
Yea, it's not a difficult job to rewire them

I did it on some akg k700 put a 4pin xlr plug on it
Makes a substantial difference

Yep nice difference even when not driving them balanced.

Are there any already available at an affordable price which come ready-wired for balanced? My HD668Bs have a TRS 3.5mm connector right beneath the 'left' transducer, looks like that would need swapping out for a TRRS, along with the connecting cable.

Don't think so at Superlux prices - they tend to be targeted towards 'audiophiles'.
It's a pretty easy mod especially for you. I have each can wired independently with very flexible Belden microphone cable - I haven't put a 4 pin XLR plug on the end as I will probably use a mini-xlr plug & socket

Wendy's having a search on Taobao to see if there's anyone who'll rewire cans as a service. We shall see what shows up....

Wish I had a willing assistant like that :)

The common ground is disconnected & each side gets it's own ground - wouldn't be differential otherwise
