My misspent youth is still being spent Dermot. Just spent a little more wisely now and then, I hope. Seem to be getting away with it.
I'm diggin' those sleeve arts you are posting. You've some eye for the way out.
I guess the purpose of the illustration or graphic is to draw you towards the music, relate to it, maybe, but entertain and provoke.
I've been keen on this guy for a few years but I think if I'd never heard of David Sylvian this sleeve would make me take notice ...


And... I am sitting up in bed now, 2.25 a.m., miraculous these days, post op,[Ooops ! Scratch that ! What I mean is a week after complex surgery on my FOOT], and really appreciating this catch up on the forum.

A great source of information, reference, opinion and debate. And the odd laugh or 12.

Thank you so much for the kind words, I've always said a little praise goes a long, long way.... Delighted you like the Lp covers too and it's very true what you say about the image drawing you in.

I still haven't got that Sylvian piece because it's not available on vinyl. Silly I know, but my allegiance to the old black plastic is well known around these parts! Anyway it's a fantastic image and I would love to have it on a 12" sleeve.

Best wishes on the old toe too; What was the problem and how long will you be lying up?

Inspired by Gerry's image, here's a fabulous testament to the power of an Lp image. It's actually worth going to the trouble of getting it on vinyl because it's just an unbelievable package all round. Thick, thick sleeves and with beautiful shiny finish too. Have a look at the link below....

I quite like this one. 7 disc vinyl set with a couple of tracks not available on CD. I like the dirty gritty look of the cover and the odd looking musical equipment in the background. Kinda sums up some of his work.

It's a brilliantly captured image all right Dave...

....and this is priceless. My favourite Fairport sleeve by a mile.....
