At a glance the only difference that I can make out between the two sets is the presence of a seventh disc of interviews with the maestro.

Yeah. Reading around it would seem that the other one is from the 70s, but the digital one is the one to have. More (mixed) reviews on amazon.com here.

Yeah, people seem to either love or hate Solti's work, some seem to feel that he could do nothing right. I am one of those who loves his musicmaking.

I have his older Beethoven 9 on LP. I've always found it very enjoyable.

There are two Solti/CSO box sets and the first one has got the proverbial thumbs up on CMG.
