A sad day when I saw this. Pat was part of my childhood on 80's RTE kids shows. I loved his sense of fun and ability to talk to kids as peers. I met him onece on Westmoreland St., he signed a book of poetry for my beloved and we had a lovely chat.It was always a very precious thing for us both.
In this world of ours today we need more spirits like Pat. May he rest in peace!

Ditto - I bought a few of his books at a time I was in the city a lot, often outside the bank of ireland on college green.

He was an unsung hero to many. I loved his sense of humour. He had great patience with anyone wanting to chat, probably with the premise of selling his latest and not so latest works. I’m the proud owner of some of those books. I remember he was pitched for a couple of weeks very close to where I worked and I’d bring him the odd cupa tea. When my youngest brother went to England years ago I purchased a couple of Pats books to send to him. Pat was gracious enough to inscribe a note on each. They remain pride of place on his book shelves. Great memories. R.I.P. Pat.
