Has aliexpress stopped using paypal (Feb-2025)?

Post by james »

I am trying to buy stuff on aliexpress. I put it in my cart and at checkout I don't have the pay button. It seems to ask me to add a credit card. (I have been using paypal with aliexpress for ages. Including last week).

Anyone else noticed this?

Is it safe to add a credit card?

I can see PP, but if i click on it, it just disappears, actually the whole page looks broken!
I purchased with PP few weeks ago, so could be just a temporary issue.
Always prefer PP on Aliexpress because their customer support is useless and almost doesn't exists, had to do PP dispute for refund once when i got a wrong item.

i think some sellers accept it and others don't so it sort of depends on that.

But maybe with all the global disruption something else is going on?

The latest is that it accepts PayPal but when I go to the checkout it tells me I have to pay in sterling.
I agree and then it tells me the stuff is not available for my address.
I then have a cart with no entries.
Strange.
