Interesting shops throughout Europe

Post by Fran »

Well, holiday season is nearly here, and I expect many will visit various parts of the EU over the next while. I thought it would be interesting to post a few locations worth visiting in some EU locations (and maybe further afield?)

I have two:

Chicago: dusty groove records and reckless records - good deals to be got in both locations and both are quite close together.

Antwerp: Chelsea records, Backtrack records, and lots of very early blues at the record collector.

Spain: I see this place on youtube every now and then, might be a good place to visit https://audiomarbella.com/

I have been recently in Amsterdam and visited the Concerto record store: impressive!

Some lovely vintage kit there, but it's overpriced in my opinion. For example. there's a Clearaudio Emotion turntable with a Shure M75 there for €1,499. I bought a second hand one with a Sumiko Blue Point from Noel Cloney a few years back for €600.
Having said that, some of the seventies kit still has the looks!

On holidays recently and drove over to Marbella today to have a look around. I called into technogold - very nice equipment on display. Massive sansui 22000 and some other choice vintage stuff. Hard to see the size of those in these pics but they are absolutely huge. He has a small stock of records as well, and was a nice fella, happy to chat.

Looking at his website, the prices are towards the top of what these things go for, very few bargains left for this kind of stuff.
