Hi all,
It's been a while and I hope this finds you all well. Last time on I mentioned acquiring a pair of venerable Celestion Ditton 66's. They needed some work - the cone on one mid needed attention and a general tidy up required with both cabinets. I'd been looking for a power amp to drive them as well as they need to be and eventually found a Threshold 400a from much the same period - mid to late '70's. The system is completed with a Mytek Brooklyn Bridge streamer amp - controlled with app/Tidal on iPad. Settling in just now and will report back when we've spent some time together! First impressions as Noel Cloney would say are "very good".

Ah, that's a lovely setup Terry.
Yes, that would be a nice pairing I'd say - plenty of welly too I'd imagine.

Thanks Fran. Delighted with things so far and can't see that changing. The 400 has tremendous grip and with a damping factor of 100, easily controls the considerable bass real estate of the 66's (some 24" on each side) — fast, powerful, big-scaled, tight and tuneful. Handles all manner of material with ease. The unit is all-original and build quality is military grade. Seems it's the piece that got Nelson Pass a lot of notice... https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/ ... -amplifier.

Thanks GH. It’s probably a pair of Threshold Stasis SA1 or 2’s your friend is running…serious welly. A pair of welly’s even. Those Allison’s may be a tad too polite for Lemmy tho. Interested to hear.
