Absolutely mad price! Hopefully you are sorted now.

Good that you're getting sound at least...

Gotta say, I'd expect a replacement diamond tweeter on a B&W 802 to be expensive. 600 quid doesn't seem that mad when you consider the price of the speaker. I'd be disappointed if they were sticking 40 euro tweeters in there!

I don't know the price of the B&W 802a, but my B&W CM7s were €1,400 or so. I traded them in for Quadral Chromium Style 8 loudspeakers!

I'm currently waiting on the delivery of two Harbeth super tweeters via Cloney. My granddaughter (22 months old!) thought the dome shape would be better if crumpled in a bit :( The door to the man cave is now locked in my absence.
They sound largely ok with an occasional sharpness but I'd still prefer to replace them. I expect about €80 each for a matched pair.

A young visitor to my house many moons ago thought the same about the speakers I had at the time. I sucked them back out with a hoover and they were grand. My OCD wasn't, but they were. At some point I swapped them round so I wouldn't know which was which. That helped.

Actually now that I remember, someone said once that the only function of the dust cover is exactly that so it shouldn't impact on sound quality.....but, you'd have to be as laid back as a sloth, to carry on as normal :)

yup, I can understand that the cost is in line with the original cost of the speakers, the amps, the cables etc etc......but it's still painful as it fells like money for nothing.
Though it seems okay for now, at least until the gremlins in my head tell me otherwise!
