Don’t mention the war - I got myself a double hernia from lifting an FPB 300 around the place! From recollection 78 kgs but an awkward load in a 2ft squared box, I’ve never seen a used FBI for sale, rare as hen’s teeth, wouldn’t say they sold many, discontinued now, only integrated they have us the K300i.
Anybody any experience with a Cayin?

I’d say everybody’s had that at home at this stage!

Yeah, I've borrowed that amp on a few occasions in a few different systems. Always solid, but I've never pulled the trigger on it.

What was the big old Krell that I had for a while? God, I can't even remember. Lovely amp, beautiful unexpectedly warm and inviting sound, low watts but pure class A and doubled up to half an ohm or something ridiculous. I really liked that. Awkward but manageable lift, not like those huge FPBs.

I had the HA-1A Headphone amp. Was very nice. Good finish. Cloneys have a Jadis Orchestra that might work for you. I borrowed one from Cloneys years ago and nearly bought it. Ended up with a secondhand DA50S.

Thanks Tony but being 6 metres away and with all the comings and goings a remote is a necessity.

Yeah I'd never go back to non-remote. No time for the hair shirt any more.

I had one of those amps on loan for a couple weeks while my Jadis was in for repair. It sounded really good and the build quality was top notch. The one I had was the A 50T I think, you could switch between Triode and Ultralinear on the fly via the remote if memory serves. It didn't quite have the tight grip on the bass as the Jadis but there wasn't much in it.

:) Long time since I had an amp with remote. It would be good for your daily step count!

Hmmm, I think I'm going to start blaming obesity on remote controls. Nice one, Tony!
