Thanks James great link. First up for me was George Pretre. I love the barcarolle and he does it with great passion. Sure I will find lots of other excellent stuff in there to cast to the TV.

Playing Metallica's Death Magnetic (5LP Boxset), nobody wants to be anywhere me. The isolation is great!

If you guys can find a Sky Arts, 4 part series; “The Art of Drumming”, in my tiny mind the best documentary on the genre, includes interviews and demonstrations from some of the greatest exponents of the humble drum kit. I’ve seen it 4 times now and haven’t tired of it yet. ☝️
Brilliant Documentary....there was a nice one on Sky Arts this weekend about ZZ Top too. Really enjoyable. Might still be being shown: ZZ Top: That Little Ol' Band from Texas

+1on the Muscle Schoals and Sound City docs too

I used to complain about how I never get around to catching up with all the music, Blu Rays etc., that I've bought in recent years...

Now that it looks like I might have some more time - I don't know where to start!

That said - like a lot of you - I've been working from home since Monday and doing longer days than when at HQ in normal times. My employers seem to think that my commuting time of just under an hour - door to desk each day should be added to the working day...

Anyway, so far I've been revisiting:

Concert For George (DVD)
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary concert (Blu Ray)
Wilco - Ashes of American Flags (DVD)
Richard Thompson Band Live at Celtic Connections - Glasgow (Blu Ray) (I was at that show)
Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Show (Blu Ray)

Too many movies to mention - but lined up are:

The Servant (Blu Ray
Sidways (Blu Ray)
Clint Eastwood Box Set - Coogan's Bluff, Play Misty etc (Blu Ray)
Billy Liar (Blu Ray)
The Apartment (Blu Ray)
Brief Encounter (Blu Ray

If my projector bulb blows out (as I've been expecting for a while now) I'll be back on here looking for a dig-out...

PS: Really missed "Thursday Pints" in Smyths, Haddington Road today

I'll be at the top of the queue...(And at my age - I should know better!)

Seriously, I really feel desperately sad and sorry for younger people - especially those in their late teens and early to mid twenties. (I've two of them at home).

At that age, I lived for the weekends - nights out in pubs, gigs, 21st parties etc. It's a time when you need to be with your peers - enjoying being young and free. Prolonged isolation - even if it's an entirely worthwhile and necessary means to an end - could be disastrous for that generation if it goes on too long.

Food for the Soul, Mind and Body to help us through this difficult time.

For the Soul:

Free music to download: https://mahavishnujohnmclaughlin.bandca ... ir-hussain

For the Mind:

Download Wordscapes to your iPhone or iPad [not sure if there is an Android version or a Windows version available]. A simple but addictive game that will keep your brain ticking over and while away the hours until normality returns.

For the Body:

Follain marmalade. Marmalade with that classic [and rare] slightly bitter taste. Available from Dunnes Stores and Supervalu [and probably all the rest] this is real marmalade and worth the effort of seeking it out.
It's OK, if there is no bread I will eat cake.

Beware of a thin chef!

If anybody has not yet seen The Night Of, I strongly recommend that you do. A very rewarding viewing experience which really sticks in the mind with fantastic performances from John Turturro and Riz Ahmed. Hopefully, HBO will one day agree to a second series.

To relieve the "boredom" this week I've been watching Brooklyn 99 from the start - I find the comedy/silliness a great antidote to reality.
Restarting The Wire at the weekend hopefully.

For the coffee guys, try this www.westcorkcoffee.ie
Nice guy to deal with and 20% off during the crisis.
