Where can I get heavy duty boxes to transport Shahinian Arcs?

Post by Sloop John B »

The title says it all really. Dublin to Edinburgh.

I need 2 37x70x26 (min) double wall boxes and foam chips (packing peanuts I believe they are called).

I seem to have lost my power of google for this, only getting house moving lighter boxes.

Thanks, John.

Not a direct answer but a good substitute is to use corriboard cut to size, joined with fibre reinforced tape to make your own custom boxes and use expanded foam in a bag for cushion/protection.

Corriboard is election poster material and seems widely enough available - any signmaker would have it in sheets and will probably rip it to size for you. Another option is to use several large bags (making sure no holes) and use builders foam filler as a packing material - you make the corriboard box, sit the speakers in, squirt the foam into the bags at each corner and let them expand. When set they hold the speaker securely. Probably best to sit the whole speaker into its own bag first in case you get any foam on them.
Do or do not, there is no try
