ULTRASONIC RECORD CLEANER ?

Post by sdiesel77 »

Hi Guys,
I have few records that are cracking and was wondering if any of you had an ULTRASONIC RECORD CLEANER and if this was really a good solution?
I saw this one:

Ah, that makes sense! I have a Nitty Gritty Record Cleaning Machine about 25 years old now. Was thinking of getting a Project VCS MK2.

How have you found it for cleaning records?

Somewhat related, but this guy has excellent deals on both ultrasonic cleaning fluid and isopropanol:

He's also a vinyl fan and understands our ways :) so you won't feel like a complete gobshite when you tell him what you want it for!

Cyndale - I don't know that its any better than the nitty gritty or any of the wet vac machines but for me there are a couple of advantages. Most of what I buy is 2nd hand and some is quite dirty. So having a system that I can "soak" the vinyl in first to remove the crud is very handy indeed. Second is that you can run 7 records at a time in this, which greatly speeds up the operation. Lastly, my one at least is far quieter than the wet vac types. There are disadvantages too of course.
Do or do not, there is no try
