I indeed love the level of details from the Abscisse but sometimes I'd like to get deeper bass especially for music styles such as Rock or Electronic
Have you looked any other area of your system that isn't delivering the 'sound' you want to your speakers, which are really impressive from what I've read, just saying?

What is your main source, CD or turntable? For me the source has to be giving the amplifier then the speakers the best signal possible!

Not being into digital at all in my system I can't help you there. Turntable is excellent what cartridge are you using with it? Also are the speakers efficient enough to be driven by the valve amp?
Personally I couldn't go to using a moving magnet cartridge (ah, I see you are using a moving magnet). Have you ever considered using a moving coil cartridge? Looking at your system in total it is heavily balanced in favour of the loudspeakers.

Years ago Linn started a 'mantra' that the 'source' was the most important thing, followed by the amplifier and followed by the speakers. I realised that early on and I would 100% agree with them. Thankfully I figured out for myself that the source didn't have to be Linn which was a blessing, ha!

Yeah, I checked the Abscisse specifications and sensitivity is very good 91dB. Is the valve amp an integrated amp, or do you have a separate preamp? What is the make of the valve amplifier? Also, can you use other valves in it, like 6550s or EL34s?

I am using two Croft Series 4 power amplifiers and I can use KT88s, 6550s or EL34. The best sound by a country mile is when I use the El34s!

Are JMR loudspeakers known for their bass, I tried Googling but found very little in English about them!

The only real test is if you can bring a pair of speakers home for a trial and see what the bass is like compared to the JMRs!

Indeed a real test would be the best.
The amp is a Yaqin mc100B that I highly modded. :)

Anyway, my boiler decided to start acting up today and I'll probably have to change it as it's 20years old so I guess I have to postpone getting new speakers... :(

What are your speakers?
