I'll wait until I get the Lp set and then I'll report back - hopefully sometime next week. At the moment I'm only interested in the DVD....

Can't fault you there, cybot. I was seriously tempted too but I have most of the material already. Not sure if it's worth all that dosh for a couple of demos and a poster!?

"The only female singer I really have time for" - what about Linda Thompson and June Tabor, Dermot? In particular, Linda Thompson has a much smaller discography than Sandy's but - in my opinion - she was more consistent and she never wasted a note.

Now look what I started :-) That's one of my all time favourites Paul! Before I viewed the link I had typed 'Down Where The Drunkards Roll' which is another favourite of mine.To tell the truth I had forgotten about Linda for the simple reason that she has a much smaller discography as you said above.Still we're blessed to have heard these and other 'great' vocalists of the female persuasion :-) Here's another one: Paula Fraser (formerly of Tarnation) who sings in a Patsy Cline twang with a spicy,spaghetti-western sauce, sprinkled sparingly with yodels....I remember buying the new Tarnation album 'Mirador' on 4 AD in 1997 and being mesmerised for weeks; next thing I know she's performing in Whelans with the same band on the album on the very last day of term!?!? Needless to say I arrived home very late that night :-)

Well, while we're at it, and in the same vein, what about Maddy Prior, Jacqui McShee, Shirley Collins, Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, Eddi Reader, Eliza Carthy, Cara Dillon, Rachel Unthank.........

...or, in another part of the forest, Ella, Billie, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Etta James, Nina Simone, Annie Ross, Madeleine Peyroux.....

...or indeed, Aretha, Martha Reeves, Diana Ross........????
