Ciúnas ISO-PS

Post by Sloop John B »

There's a lot of talk about linear power supplies for Raspberry Pi and Sonore rendu products.

Will the ISO-HUB power either of the above?
Are any extra cables needed?

I've looked at the website and am unsure, I think the cognoscenti sometimes forget how little the rest of us actually know.

There Curtis a market for a power supply for these devices.

Hi John
The ISO-PS is the battery power supply which powers all the ISO devices but can also be purchased separately to power any device which requires 3.3V or 6.6V power.
It comes with an umbilical power cable which is designed to connect between the ISO-PS & the other ISO devices - this provides 2 sources of 3.3V - one from each battery.

With a different cable it can supply 6.6V - this cable ends with a 2.1mm DC plug (a standard plug for DC powered devices) & will plug directly into the microrendu & power it.

If I've left out any detail, please ask me?

Thanks John,

I may we'll be interested in the ISO-PS to power my ultraRendu then as I've ordered it with a iFi.

When the evenings have closed in and I have my Hifi set up again I'll certainly try it out. Do you supply the cable needed?
If not it might be no harm to include it as an option?

As you probably know the Uptone LP1 (I think) gets a lot of coverage on CA and the Roon forum. If you could tap into that market it could only be a good thing.

Have you tried it with your microRendu and what were the conclusions ?

Yea we tried it in Nigel's - first with iFi PS & then with LiFePo4 batteries (2 in series for 6.6V) - batteries were a definite step up

yes definitely power supply sensitive, remember thinking another 'point' for better power supplies

Thanks Nige, How do you find this - the search function never finds anything of value for me?
