Custom ear moulds are the way to go alright. And yes the pause button is brilliant :)

Thanks Fran,

Have bought a pair but I need to look for my adaptor so I can use them with a 1/4" headphone socket.

From the manual they seem to have a microphone and can also control a phone. Amazing at the price ..

Yes, they do have a mic - its in that block with the button. Maybe not perfect if it is a good distance away or under a jumper or something

Short report - a big thumbs up for moulding your own iems.

I bought some stuff on amazon "proguard" that's sold as 2 pack silicone for custom ear plugs. It was OK - dear (22e for enough for 2 plugs) but disappointingly it set incredibly quickly - too quickly.

So I found out that 2 pack silicone putty is used a lot for food moulds so I bought the product below for the same e22 but there's enough material to make loads of moulds. You'll get it on eBay from loads of sellers.

I thought I'd come back to this thread. I have to say the custom ear moulds are quite the revelation - I'd highly recommend it to anyone using iems a fair bit. The caveat is that they don't look as good as the pro ones (or maybe that's me) and it takes a mould or two to get the knack of positioning the iem in the mould in your ear - you want it to fire properly into the ear canal but also sit in the middle of a cushion of silicone.

But you are well rewarded - the comfort is brilliant you could have them in your ears all day without irritation - and the isolation and consequently the detail is great. I'd say it would improve any headphone - but its still easy to hear differences between them.

Well worth it.......
