I'm looking to get a Raspberry solution to use as a "Roon bridge". I know so little about this I'm practically under the age of consent, but with Pi 3 out there there may be someone with a Pi 2 with Hifiberry or IQaudio or somesuch that will give me optical out or analog RCA out that I can Roonify another room in the palace.

Note that Tir Na HiFi does not take any responsibility for transactions arranged or carried out here. It is up to the seller and buyer to check each other out! Please be sensible folks, and if there is something you think is wrong, let a mod know, OK?
To make it as clear as we can, here are some simple guidelines:
a) like any forum, the success of tirnahifi is entirely dependent on discussion. All members are encouraged to participate in discussion of music, hifi, etc.
b) tirnahifi is not designed to be, nor intended to be, a marketplace. Any member who uses the site merely for selling will be looked on suspiciously.
c) those members who choose to sell on the site should be aware that the mods do keep an eye on the stuff for sale, plus the demeanour of the seller. Sometimes we may lock/delete/ban a sales thread on this basis.
d) honesty is paramount in all selling transactions. Commercial sellers who label themselves as such are accepted at the discretion of the moderating team.
e) All ads have to include information about age, price, provenance, etc.
f) THE MODERATING TEAM RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY ADS AT THEIR DISCRETION.
g) Commercial sellers should approach any of the moderation team in advance of posting. First time commercial posts without moderator contact will be removed.

Re: Wanted Raspberry Pi plus audio board
I have a HiFiBerry that I purchased but discovered I'd ordered the wrong one for my Model A so unused.
It might be what you need but I'm unsure where it is. I'll have a look in the next couple of days and revert with details if I find it....

Re: Wanted Raspberry Pi plus audio board
So it's a HiFiBerry Digi B+ HW 1.1
It appears identical to this one;
https://www.hifiberry.com/product/hifib ... r-version/
It came with some stand offs and maybe some other accessories but all I can find is the board itself. Can't testify to it's operational status - when it arrived and I found it didn't fit my Pi, I lost interest.
Let me know if it's what you want and we can progress from there.

Thing is I don't know what I want, I'm just dipping my toe in this water.
I suppose I'll have to get a Pi before I can check it's functional.
Do you know if it will work with Pi 3?
Where are you based?
Regards
John

If you follow the link there you'll see;
Compatible with: Raspberry Pi A+/B+/2/3/Zero
I've no doubt it works. Bought new by me and never used.
I'm in co. Monaghan, work in Dublin so there every day.

Well I now have a HiFi Berry, thanks Peter, nice meeting you today.
So are there any Raspberry Pi out there looking for a new home?
