Gerry, I read your post in a, eh, "fatigued" state last night and I'm only just seeing it again properly now. Thanks for the feedback, and it's good to know somebody has been using one successfully for quite a while now.

nuc with daphile /wadia dac thing?
cos i wouldnt bet bluesound is an upgrade
Not replacing anything. I want a cheap way of listening to Spotify (or whatever, Tidal, TuneIn) on the main system, but I'm not willing to start adding separate DACs and a preamp to get there. It doesn't need to be the last work in audiophilia, it just needs to sound ok and work! I liked what I heard on Sunday, even using its own DAC, sonically I thought it acquitted itself very well.
ok ok
i get a bit uptight about these things:)
carry on :)

LOL. It's like telling a Michelin-starred chef that I'm going to McDonald's!

Before anybody says it I'll freely admit... I don't know what I'm talking about but.... in my reading of articles on this new fangled streaming stuff it seems bluetooth is delivering stable and near audiophile quality. Any opinions from you young upstarts?

Maybe it's me ? But as with most things digital on this forum it gets to be a somewhat technology based conversation on something that started off, in the General section, as a simple quest for opinions on a particular piece of branded kit.
I'm remembering now why I gave up on a few other forums that seem to be favoured by those who feel that these threads are fair game as a vehicle to negatively compare accessible kit to hobbyist DIY stuff and in the meantime ward off folks that were looking forward to comment on the original subject and maybe then make some informed decisions.

Maybe I'm all wrong about this. Sorry if that is so.
Or maybe I'm just bored rigid by CA geek speak and that's why I don't stray into those topics.

Ivor , it's wireless (or wired) streaming using network connection rather than Bluetooth. (Some dacs can play via Bluetooth but I understand it's limited to 16 bit material.) Here's a link from Bluesound https://support.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/ ... e-network-

Yes, that makes sense now that you say it. Presumably Bluetooth via a phone or iPad or whatever. Either way I'll continue to drop a needle into a groove for a while longer. ;)

Or else the vinyl brigade jump in!

I do think this thread is gentle ribbing of known predilections rather than an assault on Everyman Hifi, but I do know where you're coming from.
