Great afternoon of sounds from a serious collection of speakers.

I only got pics from the back room so did not get the front room with the old EMi's and Frans vintage stuff or the front reception areas with about another 4 sets of speakers, the JVC's looked nice.

Thanks P2R for a great afternoon of music, chat, wine and hospitality.

Adding my thanks to P2R for an afternoon full of speakers & music.

I've never listened to such an array of vintage speakers, and we didn't get to listen to all of them.
The star of the show was the KEF Carltons shown above, the large ones on the outside, lovely natural wood finish with metal grills.
They are late 1960's vintage and very desirable.
The very beautifully finished EMI Capitol 101 speakers were also a delight.

P2R you might post a speaker list.

+1 Some selection of vintage speakers in a lovely listening space. François made a suggestion when we were leaving that somebody should open up a museum for old speakers so people could come to hear all of them. Sounds like a great idea but there is already a museum in Dublin. It is in P2R's house!

Lovely sounds especially from the two vintage Kef Carltons and 10somethings? I think. Both very different sounding but very very nice.

Many thanks again for a nice afternoon.

thx all for the kind comments, it was great fun :)

As for the speaker list on Sigolad picture, from Right :
the Kef Carlton (1972), monitor, using the massive B1814 elliptic woofer (18" inches tall)... wich give them alot of presence. They also have a great mid driver, that cover all the "critical" band from 200 Hz to 4.5 Khz.

The KEf Reference 105. (1979). Very well balanced speaker with tight bass.

the Duette Deluxe (on the ground) mid 60s, they are easy to place in a room, and even the tweeter has a wide diffusion patern.

Just on top of them : B&W DM4 (seventies, they produced for ten years !). They have a tweeter and a super tweeter (starts à 10 KHz)... make them magic on some kind of music (small jazz band, vocal + 1 instrument).

In the entrance were: The JVC VS-5399
Two litle 85cm towers, high efficiency (95 db).

The Pentachord are very small bookshelves, using two pairs of Bandor full-range in // or série.
