When playing Mozart on period instruments still was a dangerous affair. Bravo for Collegium Aureum and Jörg Demus.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Symphony No. 38 & 39

English Baroque Soloists
John Eliot Gardiner conducting.

This cd contains a lovely performance of the 38th and a brilliant performance of symphony number 39, it is a joy from start to finish, it is easily the best I have ever listened to.

Great new version of the Rite of Spring from Teodor Currentzis and MusicAeterna.
Emphasises melody, in the form of Russian folk tunes, over the more usual rhythm-dominated performance.

That is interesting Mark but, I probably have too many recordings of Le Sacre as it is, I am tempted though.

The Dvořák Cello Concerto is a wonderful piece of music. It is my first recorded performance of this work and I love it.
