Miles Davis Kind of Blue

Post by tony »

Saw this in a newsagent today. Comes with a booklet. LP format priced at €6.99. I think it is the first in a collection from De Agostini. Hope I got the details right as I just noticed it briefly. Might interest some even for the booklet. Most vinyl folk probably have this already?

The missus brought me home a copy from Easons Dundrum. Sound quality is superb! Nice additional sleeve notes too.

Coltranes "Blue Train" is the next issue but after that they get fairly pricey.
Vinyl -anything else is data storage.

Thorens TD124 Mk1 + Kuzma Stogi 12"arm, HANA Red, Gold Note PH 10 + PSU. ADI-2 Dac, Lector CDP7, Wyred4Sound pre, Airtight ATM1s, Klipsch Heresy IV, Misc Mains, RCA + XLR ICs, Tellurium Q spkr cable

Was tempted but unsure how good a pressing it might be, good to hear Ivor...

Picked this up today. Very impressive looking with high-quality sleeve/label reproduction and shiny, clean vinyl. The magazine and poster are great too with nice photos and text. At 6.99 it's a no-brainer.

(Haven't played it yet - waiting for the right moment when the house is quiet and the beer is cold!)

Update: Played it twice and it's a really nice, warm sounding, quiet pressing. I thought the channels might have been reversed compared to my Legacy CD version but not 100% sure which is correct. Only a minor, barely audible glitch on very the last part of the last track. Will run it through the Spin Clean and it might shift it.

Recommended - might pick up another copy if I come across one!
