Hi Folks,
Just clearing out a back bedroom and rediscovered 8 to 10 years of my What Hifi magazines. Most are in perfect condition and cover the early 1990's to 2000 and some newer years. I have several Awards issues and any smaller inserts that appeared from time to time. Its a great collection for anyone interested in covering this period and I'd love to see them go to a good home. I won't burn them and the next worst thing I can do is put them on "flebay" having said that we are in times of austerity (yuck) I won't give them away either. Approx 20 other Hifi News and Review etc. magazines will be included foc.
Without counting them I'd say there must be 80 to 100 issues. Serious weight in two large boxes but I'd help deliver them within Ireland. Any reasonable offers before the missus throws in the box of Maguires and Pattersons? I am into hifi swaps, (read, decent XLR cables) and money either way. Most decent items considered ! Big Meridian 500 collector and anything 24bit by Meridian would open my wallet...
Many Thanks,
Charlie
P.S. No slagging now from the audiophiles, I realise these were heavy on advertisements and that revenue stream 'allegedly' influenced the review process, however What Hifi did open the world of hifi to a lot of us now confirmed and upgraded addicts. Let's face it, the US publications at the same time would have bored the pants of a lot of novices and there would be less interest in the subject overall. Case in point: When I started out I never imagined I would pay in excess of a grand for 3m of loudspeaker cables !
What Hifi Magazines (qty. 80)- testing the waters !
