Do or do not, there is no try
Re: Speaker Choice
Very nice. What is that valve amp in the backround? Looks cool.
Re: Speaker Choice
Customised with HV tempo, Audyn true copper caps, new valves...

Tubes & Vinyls are making life brighter..
Re: Speaker Choice
JMR is a very different sound to b&w. The less boomy bass was a draw for me although I am in at entry level euturpes. Works well on tube amps, not as good on solid state I found.

Re: Speaker Choice
Really nice set indeed, the Euterpe are amazing product for the money. If you acquired them recently, I think I was in the same shop the same moment when you closed the deal :-)
I remember seeing someone buying these speakers when I started acquiring about the JMR .

Re: Speaker Choice
i heard these JMR's yesterday afternoon along with everything else in sight in the listening suite, i was impressed
the highs had a great finesse to them
Certainly was an education David's experience really shines though, first thing i noticed was all the system setups had the speakers set wider than i ever seen before and the listening position was much closer also, i was thinking it wasn't any result of room/display constraints as all their system setups were identical for the most part
David quickly seen the hamster turning his wheel in my head and explained the reasoning which in simplest terms it is the same speaker/monitor and listening position setup ratio as the sound engineer has in the studio although it had been slightly adjusted to suit the room acoustics
i was only in a position to agree due to the great quality of sound i was hearing at the listening suite and as i had listened to the BW802 and the dual mono Devialet setup earlier that morning with the more common triangular speaker/listening position
i found the sound of the bw802 setup less than inspirational,
uninvolving or sterile, lacked micro detail especially reverb and decay or much finesse
at this stage i was listening to the entry level equipment and everything above that was like steps on the stairs
i made a joke on the day about taking notes
now i wish i took at least some :)
Anyone in the market needs to visit the listening suite for many reasons
make an appointment though (i lucky stumbled into an open afternoon slot)
as auditioning/demo of equipment is taken quite seriously and as stuff like providing a quiet environment seems to be beyond the imagination of some audio retailers and it was quite refreshing
