OK. Here goes for what it's worth....

I used to contribute to the site when it was on Cloney and then never got around to re-registering. Consequently, I feel like some weird stalker following various posts over the years and nodding in agreement or shouting violent objections at the screen. But the interest and passion on here is wonderful, (and rare enough in Ireland). So I contribute my impulse purchase last weekend from Tower Records in Dublin. ECM. Not cheap. But life affirming music.

This is a concert by Kurtag himself, given in Paris a few years ago. He is about 85 years old, playing in concert with his wife. Re-workings of Bach interspersed with original compositions. Exquisite. Beautiful. Touching.

The concert is all here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g319gW5_O0o
but check out these 3 minutes before you die: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx-kKRvL8Uw
