A high octane work, Don; did you enjoy that version?

It is time I resurrect this 1965 recording and listen to this lovely performance once again:

Image

Gustav Mahler
Symphony No. 2

Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra
Bavarian Radio Choir
Heather Harper Soprano
Janet Baker Mezzo-Soprano
Otto Klemperer conducting.

Spine tingling.

An old favorite from a long time back. I used to own a Musical Heritage Society LP of this version coupled the Organ Concerto, Marie-Claire Alain organ, (which is also included in the set but on a different disc). A high octane work for sure. A fine, witty and brisk performance.

100% Mark. I "discovered" this ensemble earlier this year and they are quickly becoming a close second favourite choral ensemble to Gardiner's Monteverdi Choir for me.
See Recent Purchases thread for my latest aquisition.
