I clearly prefer v123. More clarity, beautiful.

I installed win 2012 R2 with GUI, and with AO in both GUI (no optimization) and core mode (optimized) there was distortion with v123 and counter v14 and v8.

Cheers
So what os are you using that gives no jitter, I'm just using a win 10 pro haswell i5 toshiba laptop. If I open a resource hungry web page then there are repeated buffers, but that's to be expected.

What was the last version that worked ? Do you think it's a driver issue ?

Think the sq is better with the counter exe, so shall probably keep it.

I can't find the BugHead thread in a search so I'm resorting to posting this here.
I'm sure, it's of interest to you too, Gordon as it seems to explain what's going on in the Bughead & may have significance for your software or explain some of it's audible improvements?

Not really enough info to understand what the player does. The memory cleansing just seems to apply to ssds. A lot of dodgy words which may or may not have any bearing on the end result.

I am using v123,v14,v32 W2012 r2 OS on ram minimal server sounds exceptional I had one album that was giving me a little hum at beginning of each track don't know why

Then I switch to OS on SSD core mode one day had stuttering sound try v14.10 not much different
Then last night try it again and it plays no problem with v14 ,v14.10 gives me some jitters

As far as Regen goes I don't believe that will gives much improvement if you are using good dac with good clocks
SQ,details, and other improvements MQnplay brings to computer music nothing can imitate in my opinion
I wish I had Regen on hand I will send it to you Gordon for testing
Maybe someone here lives close by so you could borrow it

Gordon do not get distracted by other forums claiming this or that what you did to computer music you deserve Noble prize
I hope everyone here who follows this development agree with me
Thank you Gordon
Still hoping that you will give Us more to enjoy hirez ,track skipping etc.

Sorry, what's SSDS - memory or do you mean SSD disks & the memory used in them?
Is this very different to computer RAM in terms of it's underlying mechanisms?
I thought the idea of cleansing memory cells of no-audio data & putting only the audio bits into contiguous memory seemed to make sense & seemed to be what BugHead was about?

My music-only desktop pc OS installed is 2012R2 Standard Evaluation with GUI. And I use Audiophile Optimizer (AO).

The behavior of all mqn versions seems entirely unaffected by AO, its different modes and optimizations.

with mqnplay123:
counter v14 10 -sound ok, v13 15 - normal speed and sound, but crackling (clicks) c.2/sec, v13 19 and v14 - clicks (machine-gun style) and half-speed.
Gigabyte H97M-D3H with PPA OCXO module. i7-4790T, 800MHz. 8GB Ram, 800MHz.
PPA 2-rail LPSU & Pico. JCAT battery for OS-SSD and PPA v3 USBcard.
Server 2012 R2, AO 1.40. APL HiFi DAC-S, upd. Only use 1644 .wav

play121, ctrl 32, loader 29, counter 1,2 and 3 are all OK.
counter from ver 4 onward crackles thro' the Amanero usb. Think it is DAC related with such ver.

Try changing timer to 0.5ms instead of 1or more
Simple way is to run Fidelizer (free version) before you fidelize check OS timer etc box
This will change timer to 0.5ms leave it running
If you want to go back just end Fidelizer in Task manager or just restart

After a couple days of messing around, I figured out I needed to update the mqnparam file with the output of mqndeviceinfo.exe to get mqn to work. After figuring it out, I did find a post in this LONG thread with the instructions lol.

I had installed an much older version of MQN a long time ago, but had to reinstall after a new OS installation on my PC. And had I known about mqnparam, the installation would have been pretty easy.

So I'm making a request to update the mqnreadme file to add the instructions for mqnparam/mqndeviceinfo.
The list of files you need should also be updated, I think the list as is follows:
MQn.bat
mqncontrol.exe
mqncounter.exe
mqndeviceinfo.exe
mqnloader.exe
mqnparam.txt v16
mqnplay.exe
paste.exe

BTW, it sounds great. I just had a quick listen last night, need to try different versions now, and see what I like.

I'm also creating some instructions on my blog page.

I was also wondering if MQnload still works with MQn, will probably try it tonight and see what happens.
