Guys,
I mentor at a local coding club for kids - some of you may have heard of it:
http://coderdojo.com
http://coolestprojects.org/
anyway, I plan on teaching the kids how to put together a PC from scratch in the when we start back in a few weeks time. Sooo, here comes the ask. ..... I'm looking for donations of working parts suitable for building a low end PC. Things like chassis, HDDs, mobos, PSUs, CPUs and ram. The gotcha is that I need to be able to make up probably 2 PCs from bits that fit together, so the parts must be compatible.
Would anyone have some older gear, stuff that you are throwing out or never going to use anyway that you would be willing to donate? It can be pretty low spec, I will be just loading ubuntu or similar to the PCs to let them get the feel of building one from scratch. Think of 40-80gb HDD, 1gb ram, rpocessors from that era.
Think of it this way, you'll have these young nerds in a few years to sort out problems for us!!!

Re: Appeal for parts.....
I have two complete PCs you can have. One was overheating (admittedly at the top of the house with loads of glass above it - a better fan would sort it) and another in the shop that would reboot intermittently. I'll get them together for you!

Many thanks guys - I'm humbled but not surprised by your responses. I'm aiming towards trying to pick up some of these into early next week..... I'll give you a pm each over the weekend to see what suits either end.
