Got myself a copy of the new issue of double fantasy, the one with the stripped down and remastered CDs.

I'm not terribly familiar with the JL solo stuff, but the stripped down thing sounds bloody great. Really really adds to the music. The remastered version is like listening to a badly overcompressed CD instead....

Mavis Staples - You are not alone

Picked this up in freebird I think - its the second double LP, 45rpm album I've got recently for I think 19.99 (grizzlybear yellow house was the other one). What great value!!

Lovely album, the odd track that doesn't live up to its mates, but excellent nonetheless.

Fran, I bit the bullet and picked up a copy today looking forward to a full listen later

I have the CD version of the Mavis Staples and I think it’s the best thing she has done in quite a while, mind you double 45 rpm LP…

Donovan: Fairytale....

....subtitled Songs for Sunshine People this gives a big clue to its vintage. I remember coming across these songs in my early teens and how I loved them!

Cleaning my vinyl collection slowly ( no sniggering at the back!) so reliving my teen years!
