This is a version for two pianos and choir. The version has two effects, it naturally lightens the overall texture of the work and it also focuses the attention more on the choral element. The choral singing is excellent. This version is a wonderful contrast to the orchestral version.

This is a hugely powerful big band performance of the First Symphony. The entire ensemble performance is superb and the woodwinds in particular are delicious.

Arthur Grumiaux - Violin

Oh this a magnificent performance by the Grumiaux Trio, the musicians obviously loved this music. On first listening to it I sat enchanted through the entire piece, Arthur Grumiaux's playing in particular is gorgeous, what a beautiful tone he had.
Interestingly at 41'21 The entire performance is ten minutes shorter than my other recording by Fernandez, Terakado and Zipperling 50'58. They are two totally different approaches which is wonderful, more to savour and enjoy.
Now back to the music..........
