Couldn't have put it better myself. I've always maintained that if an artist has put in so much time getting it right, whether it be music, film, literature etc then the very least we can do is spend time with it.....At least it's a great way of escaping to wherever you want to go.

Thanks for that Ivor....

Have to admit l'm still listening to an hour or two (or 3!) of music nearly every night. Unfortunately I don't have a turntable but do have a good cd player and collection of cds and definitely find it far more rewarding than watching the s#&te that's on the box most evenings.

I get in a few hours every evening too, as much to escape crappier TV as anything.... Well no, it is an end in itself but avoiding the crappier is a bonus!

I enjoy a good late night hifi listening session too. Have been doing it a lot over the past 5 or 6 years.

Although, I had a new phone recently and have been listening to music on it via headphones and have really enjoyed it. It bought me back to teenage years sitting on a bus with a Walkman. I think I enjoy walking the streets with my own sounds on as much as sitting in front of the hifi.

I feel closer to the lyrics with the headphones, perhaps my hifi is bad!!

Welcome to the Forum jonbliss! I can imagine the size of the Walkman :) Now the headphones are just as big lol.

So you think your hi fi is bad? What have you got ;)

Nothing wrong with that lot! At the end of the day the hi fi is just a means to an end and the most important thing is the music. Spoken like a true audiophile :)

That's a very nice system! I could quite happily live with that! Enjoy many hours of listening pleasure and welcome to the forums.
