I like v17 vs v15. More details for sure and i dont personally feel bass to be weaker..
But i cant play files of less than 49mb..it should be like this? And theres a limit how many mb are played? I just played a file of 66mb and it got interupted before its end..

Re: MQN
can only think you're using the old loader and or old control.minionas wrote:I like v17 vs v15. More details for sure and i dont personally feel bass to be weaker..

Re: MQN
you did rename them ?minionas wrote:Just double checked: nope, control and loader v16 haswell and mqnplay v17... i use waveio with thesycon
the new loader and control don't have a limit on file size apart from 2gb, so the behaviour can only happen with the old loader. Suppose you could alter the mqnparam.txt file to an unknown device to check if it's using the new control.
Re: MQN
Yes, renamed.
After altering mqnparam to unknown device (my old dac), i get no sound.
I think i use new control, as:
With v15 i get a test.wav file played, not the one copied to clipboard
With v17 i get a clipboard file played
With v15 i get no sound with files <50mb
With v17 i get no sound with <49.2mb (i dont have any 49.1 or 49...thought 48.9 already doesnt play)
Weird stuff...

v17 orchestral bass more tight.

v17, all wav-files play ok, small (10mb) or large (180mb), all play fine to the end. Copy one file to clipboard, and start from mqn.bat.
Although I had no sound at all until I added paste.exe in c:\musicplayer.
Easy to make your own mqnparam.txt file "from scratch":
Have mqndevinfo.exe in say C:\. Then from command prompt run:
c:\mqndevinfo>>mqnparam.txt
Your mqnparam.txt has been created in c:\ (just check for 0 in line two), and you move the file to c:\musicplayer.
And then: sbgk, your efforts are very much appreciated, thank you!

Re: MQN
uploaded mqnplay v18, might have more clarity. Removes the setting that was deprecated, before this led to sibilance, but sounds ok.
not sure, shall upload v19 without it, it still has another setting different to v17.
will be interesting what people think of v18 and v19.
uploaded control and loader v17 that removes the deprecated setting, sound is pretty full on with it removed. Listening to Black Keys El Camino.
