I think that was the idea Fergus. But a more distinctive design could have helped sales.

Yes, a favourite work of mine also Seán and a good performance of it.

Something that I had picked up some time ago Seán but did not get around to listening to it until now. Unfortunately I have no German but one still understands what von Karajan is try convey to the BPO as he usually mouths the music as well as explains it and of course they just play what he asks for. It is interesting to hear how things develop.

I bought this CD for the Korngold Violin Concerto. I did not know it or have it in my collection and I felt that I should have it. I thoroughly enjoyed both music and performance; the slow movement is ravishing.
The Tchaikovsky is also excellent; an electrifying performance.

This is one of my favourite Early Music CDs. The instruments are wonderfully sonorous and the vocals of Maria D. Lafitte are terrific, ranging from raucous to haunting. Her performances are full of passion and conviction and they create a marvellous atmosphere. Warmly recommended.
