The Kirill Kondrashin is also my favorite version, but I am BIASED in a big way Seán, I actually heard this great conductor and the Concertgebouw perform this work while on tour in Mexico in 1979. What can I say? the opulence, the drama, the out of this World sounds!!!!
Oh you are a lucky man Pepe.

Gustav Mahler
Symphony No. 7

Kölner Rundfunk-Sinfonie-Orchester
Gary Bertini conducting

This is a marvellous performance of this GREAT work, and is included in what is a very fine set. Bertini really gets the best out of the Cologne Radio Orchestra, they really are a splendid outfit.

CD 2 of this set....

The four Orchestral Songs were definitely the pick of this collection. Marvellous works, well crafted and orchestrated, they most definitely deserve much more attention. These gems were a real find!
