Re: Recent Purchases
I LOVE that set. I bought it when I set out on my Haydn odyssey and it really inspired me to explore Haydn further. I hope you like it. It is a universally good set and the 59th is sensational.fergus wrote:Finally got around to purchasing this set!!!

I have no doubt that I will enjoy it Seán as I really like both Haydn and Harnoncourt. I effectively only bought 4 CDs as I already own the first one in this set i.e. Symphonies 6-8....

Re: Recent Purchases
On Saturday and Sunday evenings my wonderful wife listens to LyricFM. On Sunday the presenter of the drive time show ran a competition and the prize was a copy of Mahler's Ninth. Well I didn't hesitate to take part, in fact mine was probably the first entry. The first name 'out of the hat' was........................."Seán Dunne in Templeogue" and here it is:

Thanks Fergus. I listened to it this evening and I enjoyed it. It's by no means a classic, it does have it's moments. I will listen to it again tomorrow.fergus wrote:Seán wrote:On Saturday and Sunday evenings my wonderful wife listens to LyricFM. Good man Fergus! You are collecting some very interesting recordings I must say. Where do you store them? You must have inherited a big empty cd cabinet or have you off loaded cds?fergus wrote:
