Forum rules
Note that Tir Na HiFi does not take any responsibility for transactions arranged or carried out here. It is up to the seller and buyer to check each other out! Please be sensible folks, and if there is something you think is wrong, let a mod know, OK?
To make it as clear as we can, here are some simple guidelines:
a) like any forum, the success of tirnahifi is entirely dependent on discussion. All members are encouraged to participate in discussion of music, hifi, etc.
b) tirnahifi is not designed to be, nor intended to be, a marketplace. Any member who uses the site merely for selling will be looked on suspiciously.
c) those members who choose to sell on the site should be aware that the mods do keep an eye on the stuff for sale, plus the demeanour of the seller. Sometimes we may lock/delete/ban a sales thread on this basis.
d) honesty is paramount in all selling transactions. Commercial sellers who label themselves as such are accepted at the discretion of the moderating team.
e) All ads have to include information about age, price, provenance, etc.
f) THE MODERATING TEAM RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY ADS AT THEIR DISCRETION.
g) Commercial sellers should approach any of the moderation team in advance of posting. First time commercial posts without moderator contact will be removed.

Re: Full System for beer money (literally)
After getting the NAD 4020a down form the attic and verifying it is still working OK, the yellow orange glow of the analogue display as the light receded and the sonorous tones of the Radio 4 10 o'clock news made me doubt the wisdom of of it leaving chez Sloop, even for the wonderful O'Hara's Leann Follain.
So I'm afraid this one is staying put!

Ah, the NAT01 is going nowhere!
It's patiently waiting for me to get around to setting up a vintage 2nd Naim system along with the Nait2, and N-Sats I have.
You don't sell Naim, just build an extension to house it!

The top naim system [in the 80's] used to be active speakers with 6 power amps [one per each driver in each speaker], an electronic crossover + power-supply [2 boxes] and a pre-amp + power-supply [2 more boxes]. So a total of 10 full size [and heavy] boxes ..

Re: Full System for beer money (literally)
Great to meet you over the weekend, Sloop, even if I was in a slightly inebriated state having sampled more than a few beers at a bbq at Steve's that afternoon. Some initial teething troubles getting things set up were solved when google suggested a factory reset, and hey presto all worked fantastically from then on with zero fuss. Looking forward to many happy hours with this. Thanks again!
