Cheers Fergus. The back is still on the mend. Moving more boxes during the week didnt exactly allow it to recover but the worst is over now thankfully. This symphony has been described as Myaskovsky's masterpiece, well I don't know about that. It is a long - 65 minutes or so - and deeply satisfying piece of music.

This is a lovely recording of Mahler's Third Symphony. In fact I have yet to listen to a recording by Ricardo Chailly that disappoints, he is consistently good in everything he does.
